Founded in April 1999 by chemical engineer Mr. Gaurav Dubey, Global Rug Company is a manufacturer of custom handmade rugs based in Bhadohi, India, widely known as the “Carpet City.” We specialize in bringing your design visions to life through an array of techniques including hand loomed, hand tufted, shaggy, and hand knotted styles. Every rug we create is tailored to your exact specifications in size, shape, color, and material. Backed by a team of over 400 skilled artisans, we are committed to excellence in craftsmanship, quality, and ethical production. Our dedication is led by our Quality Head, Dr. Sonu Dubey, a PhD in chemistry. At Global Rug Company, we prioritize innovation, on time delivery, and fair trade principles, and building lasting relationships.

Spanning 76,000 square feet, our state of the art facilities in Mehboobpur, Bhadohi, encompasses every stage of the rug making process from raw material storage
and preparation to weaving, finishing, inspection, and packaging. This fully integrated setup allows us to maintain quality control and ensure that every rug meets your exact specifications. Gaurav Dubey, founder of Global Rug Company, brings together a background in chemical engineering and a longstanding connection to India’s rich tradition of rug making. Since establishing the company in 1999, he has guided its growth with a steady focus on quality, craftsmanship, and ethical production.
Over the years, the company has grown to support more than 400 artisans directly and many more across rural weaving communities. Gaurav remains committed to sustainable practices, encouraging the use of natural dyes, recycled materials, and techniques that respect both tradition and the environment.
His approach is thoughtful and hands-on, shaped by a belief that every rug should reflect a balance of heritage, craftsmanship, and care.
